NATIONWIDE talent search Festival 4 Stars will visit Belfast on Saturday, June 16 and is giving young stars from Newtownabbey the chance to win a share of £100,000.

Last year local girl Emma Lowry went all the way to the UK final in Glasgow after winning the Northern Ireland Solo Singing 14 and Under Category.

Founded six years ago in Scotland in an attempt to find the country’s hottest new talent, Festival 4 Stars now runs heats throughout Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Northern Ireland heat of the contest is taking place at The Emerald Roadhouse, Finaghy Road North on June 16, giving contestants the chance to win a place in the grand final, which will take place in September.

Unlike other talent shows Festival 4 Stars has a wide range of categories and is open to various age groups. There are different sections reflecting various singing styles, musical theatre, dance and Star Group. The competition has categories for soloists, duos, small and large groups.

Britain’s Got Talent winner George Sampson is one of the organisation’s success stories and other contestants have recently appeared on TV’s Over The Rainbow.

Robin Elliott, Northern Ireland organiser and host said: “This is one of the UK’s most reputable talent competitions with many celebrity endorsers including Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Faryl Smith, Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett, Eastenders legend Steve McFadden and Coronation Street’s Kym Marsh.”

He added: “We all know that talent shows are extremely popular and especially here in Northern Ireland. I have had the opportunity to judge so many of these shows recently and I know just how much amazing talent we have out there. So, let’s show off the amount of talent we have here in Northern Ireland.”

Prizes for Festival 4 Stars 2012 include a £75,000 first prize, £20,000 second prize, a £5,000 third prize and holidays, dance workshops, a new car and much more.

The entry fee is £15 per person, per category and every contestant will get a goody bag worth over £60.
