YFCU event promises to be informative and interesting

THE Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) Agri Affairs committee is inviting YFCU members, their families and friends to its ‘Family Farm Succession - Finding a Solution’ evening on Wednesday, February 29, at the Conference Hall, CAFRE, Greenmount campus at 8pm.

Succession on family farms is a major issue which affects the vast majority of farming businesses at some point in time; all too often it does not get talked about. The aim of this event is to get our industry talking and hopefully it will encourage farming families to talk also and to understand the importance of discussing succession.

This event has been kindly supported by Ulster Bank and Countryside Agri-Rural Partnership. Chairman for the evening will be Cormac McKervey, Senior Agricultural Manager at Ulster Bank.

Guest speakers will include Lowry Grant who has 28 years of accountancy experience and is Managing Director of JL Grant and Company; Alex Cromie, a Family Farms Options mentor and Jason Rankin, a young Dairy Farmer from Co Down who will be talking about his experience of family farm succession.

This promises to be a very informative and interesting event. In addition to hearing advice from the guest speakers, members of the audience will also have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about family farm succession and how it will affect them. If you wish to attend please contact Ann Cameron at YFCU headquarters to register. Spaces are limited so please register early by ringing Telephone: 028 90370713 or email: ann.cameron@yfcu.org
