Belfast High School pupils once again achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in their A Levels.
An incredible 94 per cent of all exam entries resulted in an A*-C grade, making the 2016 results the school’s best to date.
Just over 86 per cent of students achieved at least three A*-C grades, with 31 pupils attaining three A grades or better.
Staff at the school have wished all of the departing students every success for the future.
A statement issued on behalf of principal Mrs Lynn Gormley and acting principal Mrs C. Weir said: “We are extremely proud of our students and thrilled with these results which are the result of much hard work on the part of pupils and staff, as well as the support of parents and governors.”
It added: “The AS results augur well for a similar success story at A Level next year. Students have certainly got a very sound foundation to build upon and there were several stunning individual performances at both AS and A Level.
“There is considerable interest in places in our Sixth Form and students will enjoy our excellent, newly refurbished Sixth Form study facilities, our new sports hall, fitness suite and drama suite, as well as our enviable record of success in public examinations.”
