THE Co-Operative is inviting local schools to enter a competition to win funds to boost their eco credentials as part of its Green Schools Revolution programme.
A share of an £18,000 prize fund is available to help schools realise their green ambitions, which could be anything from creating a new school garden, to generating their own renewable energy.
To be in with a chance of scooping the cash, schools will have to showcase what they have done to help improve sustainability in their school, along with plans on how they will use the prize money to make their school greener.
Schools are being invited to showcase their Green Schools Revolution through films, stories and photographs, and the £18,000 prize fund will be divided between primary and secondary schools. Six primary schools and six secondary schools will each receive £1,000 in the regional finals, and one primary school and one secondary school will each receive £3,000 in the overall national final.
