A JORDANSTOWN woman has bid a fond and emotional farewell to 20 years of child’s play.
Anne Duncan has been playing host to local children in her Jordanstown private nursery, Treehouse, for the past two decades.
And this week the business, based in her home, closed and Anne began her retirement.
She said: “It has been great, there have been the ups and downs of course but it has been a great job and I will miss it.
“My main reason for starting it was to be able to spend time with my own two boys as they grew up. And to watch others and their families grow up has been a great privilege.
“Many people have come to me with their first child and then their second and third. I have made many great friends over the years.”
Despite her formal retirement, Anne is really only going to have the pleasure of a six-month break.
She added: “It was time for me to retire. I will be spending the time catching up with the gardening and doing stuff I had not got the opportunity to do while working.
“My son has a baby on the way in six months time, so no doubt my babysitting will be of some use once again,” she joked.
