ANYONE who is caring for a person with dementia is being invited to come along to The Alzheimer’s Society’s East Antrim Area Carer Information and Education Programme.
Meetings will take place at Monkstown Village Centre, Monkstown Road throughout October.
On October 3 Dr Petr Zvolsky, Consultant Psychogeriatrician at Holywell Hospital will give a talk on ‘An Overview of Dementia’, while on October 10 the Citizens Advice Bureau’s Pat Hutchinson will speak about ‘Benefits Entitlements’.
Sandra McClure from the Behavioural Sciences Team will be the guest speaker on October 17, addressing the issue of ‘Behaviours we find Challenging’, and Deidre Norton from the Community Dental Service will give a talk on ‘The Importance of Oral Care in Dementia’ on October 24.
The sessions, which are free to family and carers of people with dementia, will take place between 2pm and 3.30pm.
