Ballyclare High School team head off to Ethiopia for children’s charity

A GROUP of pupils from Ballyclare High School will be heading to Ethiopia today (Thursday) as part of a ground-breaking new link with charity Stand by Me (Kids Alive International UK).

Stand by Me is a Christian mission dedicated to meeting the physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of children and young people across the world who have no other reasonable means of support.

Stand by Me coordinator at Ballyclare High, Mr Russell Milliken, explained how the Ethopian opportunity came about.

“The Romania project was excellent, but January was never a great time to take our students out of their studies so we went looking for an alternative,” he said.
