Ulster Unionist South Antrim chairman, Cllr Paul Michael, has congratulated Newtownabbey woman Barbara Watson on receiving the Woman of the Year award at the party conference in Armagh at the weekend.
Cllr Michael described the Ballyrobert woman’s success as “great news for Barbara and unionism in South Antrim.”
“This is a great honour for Barbara and is recognition of her work and commitment to Ulster Unionism in South Antrim over many years,” he said.
“Barbara has broken the mould in many ways, with a history of achievements in South Antrim - being the first female chair of south Antrim UUP, election agent to Danny Kinahan MP and the first woman from South Antrim to receive the Woman of the Year. We are all so proud of what she has achieved.”
