ALLIANCE councillor, Alderman John Blair has called for Translink to work with Tesco to put on a bus service for Mallusk and Roughfort residents to the retailer’s Northcott store.
At March’s Planning and Consultation Committee meeting, the Antrim Line representative said there was a “significant” demand for a route which would benefit many elderly people living in those communities..
Local bus manger for Translink, Gerry Mullan said: “We had approached Tesco before and they just said no.
“It is something that we can bring up with them again and see what they say. They have subsidised bus services before so you never know.”
