Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council launched the commencement of work on a new Local Development Plan at its ‘Planning Our Place’ event, which was held yesterday (Thursday).
The finished plan will guide development in the borough until 2030.
The council has also launched the booklet ‘Towards Preferred Options’, which provides information about the plan. It details how interested parties can get involved in the process and have their say on the future development of the borough.
Speaking at the launch, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Thomas Hogg said: “In preparing our new plan we will be aiming to positively and proactively guide development in the borough so that we can improve the quality of life for our residents. The start of work announced today therefore marks a new era, in terms of planning, for our council and our borough.”
