Council to commemorate Royal wedding

NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council is to issue special commemorative coins to P7 children in the area to mark the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The council is one of the many local authorities across the UK set to commemorate the special event on April 29.

There will be a number of parties held across the country and the day has also been marked a public holiday.

Newtownabbey Mayor, Alderman Paula Bradley said: “Newtownabbey has done these types of things before - I still have my coin from the Queen’s silver jubilee celebrations when I was in P7.
