Man due in court after failing to stop for police in Newtownabbey

A 26-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences including theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.

The charges relate to an incident in the Glen Park area of Newtownabbey on Saturday evening (April 25).

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, April 27).

Appealing for information, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Were you in the area of Glenville Road/Park or the Shore Road at around 11pm? Did you witness a black Vauxhall Corsa in the area?

“We know there were pedestrians and dog walkers, so if you did happen to come across this vehicle, please give us a call on 101, quoting reference number 2293 of 25/4/20. We would be keen to hear from you.”

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
