Newtownabbey woman evacuated after door of house set on fire

Police are appealing for information following a report of an arson incident at a house in the Loughmoney Park area of Newtownabbey in the early hours of Saturday.

Speaking at the weekend, Detective Sergeant Toni Lenaghan said: “At around 4.00 am this morning, we received a report that the back door and a bin at a house in the area had been set on fire. Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, who were in attendance, extinguished the fire and a woman in the property at the time was safely evacuated.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, to contact detectives on 101 and quote reference number 276 of 15/5/21.
