Vehicles clamped during Newtownabbey road safety operation

Police are carrying out a joint operation with the DVA in Newtownabbey today (Monday) with a number of motorists already being penalised during the first hour of the initiative.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Newtownabbey are carrying out a joint road safety initiative with our colleagues in the DVA today. We will be stopping vehicles to ensure that they are in a safe condition and on the road legally.

“Within the first hour we are already seeing vehicles being clamped, tickets issued and advice and guidance issued. For advice on road matters, please see our website
