Young female seriously injured after unprovoked attack in Newtownabbey

Police have launched an appeal for information after a young female was assaulted by an unknown male in the Ballyhenry Road area of Glengormley in an unprovoked attack.

Detailing the incident, which occurred at approximately 9.50pm on Friday, March 5, a PSNI spokesperson said: “A young female was assaulted by an unknown male on Ballyhenry Road in an unprovoked attack.

“We’re appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, in the vicinity of Ballyhenry Presbyterian Church, or witnessed what they thought was a couple arguing around that time, to get in contact with us.

“If you were driving in the area, and possibly have dash cam footage, particularly between that location and Beverley Shops, please review it.

“The female received serious injuries and we are keen to ensure that the assailant is identified and dealt with appropriately.
