Do you remember ‘the Bard of Mallusk’?

MEMBERS of Mallusk Community Action Group (MCAG) are undertaking research on the life and poetry of William Morrison - the man known as ‘the Bard of Mallusk’.

The project will be part of a council-sponsored publication about historical figures from Newtownabbey.

MCAG Chairman, Barry Macaulay explained: “William Morrison was born in 1881 and died in the early 1970’s. He worked as a reporter for the East Antrim Times and in his final years he lived in Rosevale Cottage in front of Mallusk Primary School. If any readers have any personal recollections or information on William, please contact us. Similarly, we would be very pleased if any of William’s family could got in touch to aid our research.”
