Commenting after UEFA contacted fans regarding tickets for the matches against Poland, Ukraine and Germany, Gary Wallace from the Newtownabbey Northern Ireland Supporters Club said: “I know that some of our members have missed out on tickets.

“I think UEFA have completely ignored the IFA priority scheme and adopted the attitude of ‘it’s my party and I will invite whoever I want.”

The secretary of the Standard NISC echoed these feelings. Michael Cole said: “The majority of our members were successful with their ticket applications. However, some members were unsuccessful and left disappointed in some games, even though they had a number of loyalty points.

“Poland in Nice is the big one that fans wanted to attend, but unfortunately a number of fans have missed out.

“The club believes the loyalty scheme that was delivered to the Irish Football Association through the Amalgamation of Official Northern Ireland Supporters’ Clubs was not implemented by UEFA and mistakes were made, which will affect many loyal Northern Ireland fans that have followed and supported their country at home and abroad.”
