LOCAL groups who have concerns about road safety in their area and can deliver an innovative, community-led road safety project are being invited to apply for grant funding.
The Department of the Environment recently appointed CTA to deliver a programme of funding to support individuals and community groups in developing and implementing initiatives, programmes and activities aimed at further reducing the number of people killed and seriously injured on our roads.
The CTA is now inviting applications for the DOE road safety grants from the voluntary and community sector. Community, special interest groups and individuals can apply for grants of up to £15,000 to develop and run locally-focussed road safety projects.
To qualify, groups must be properly constituted, have a bank account and be able to complete their project by March 2013.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Wednesday, June 20.
