Have your say on community garden plans

NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council is inviting Glengormley residents to a public meeting next week to discuss plans for the community garden at Lilian Bland Park.

Speaking about the project, the council’s Trainee Biodiversity Officer, Rosie Irwin commented: “We are inviting users of the park and local residents to attend a public meeting about the community garden. We want to find out what they would like to see in the design of the garden.

“A native hedge has already been planted to give the garden a boundary and the planting of a wildflower area and fruit trees will bring more colour to the park. The response from the local community to the community garden has been great so far and it would be fantastic to get a good turnout at the meeting.”

The meeting will be held in Glengormley Pavilion at 7.30pm on Wednesday, May 2.
