“Since the publication of the consultation to reduce the opening hours of Glengormley Library, I have been contacted by numerous residents across Newtownabbey concerned about the major impact such a reduction would have on the local area,” the DUP man said.

Libraries are one of our most important community resources, with Glengormley Library well established as a vital resource for learning and employment needs. Used by young and old alike, Glengormley Library is an important hub in the Glengormley community.

“I am delighted that the Minister has shown he listens to concerns by rejecting any reduction to this vital service. While Glengormley Library continues to attract a large user base, I would encourage people to ensure they make full use of this service to ensure it continues to expand for many years to come,” Mr Dodds added.
