A 25-year-old man has been questioned by police about an attempted cash-in-transit van robbery outside business premises in the Mallusk Road area on Thursday, May 15.

Shortly after 10am it was reported that two males, one carrying a knife, approached a security guard and attempted to steal a cash box. The guard locked himself in the van and the two males made off empty handed. They made off in a silver coloured car driven by another male.

The 25-year-old was arrested in the Whitewell Road area and later released on police bail.
