MAYOR Billy Webb recently visited enthusiastic local traders Jackie and Nicole Kelly, who have a serious passion for shoes.
Shoe La La, which opened in September 2011, is an exclusive boutique in the heart of Glengormley, offering a variety of ladies shoes, boots and handbags.
Co-owner Jackie Kelly commented: “Having found ourselves needing to travel further afield for something that wee bit different yet affordable, we felt there was an opportunity to address the needs of local women like ourselves and bring Shoe La La to our local community. We spent a great deal of time sourcing brands from some of the largest and most comprehensive trade fairs and now have a fine collection from Italy, Germany and Spain offering style, comfort and affordability.
“We pride ourselves in being able to offer a personal service with attention to detail, realising our individual customer needs and enhancing their shopping experience with us.”
Alderman Webb added: “It is obvious, even before you walk through the front door, that the owners have enormous pride in what they have created. Jackie and Nicole say opening the shop was a dream come true and it is wonderful for the local community that they chose Glengormley to fulfil their dreams.
“I believe local people might be surprised at what is on their doorstep and would encourage them to take another look at what is available locally and support independent retailers like Shoe La La.”
The Mayor will be continuing his visits to small businesses over the next few weeks. Anyone who would like to host a Mayoral visit should telephone Michelle Pearson on 028 9034 0018 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
