DIANE Dodds MEP will host a funding workshop at The Templeton Hotel, Templepatrick on Monday, May 14 at 7.45pm.
The event will highlight funding opportunities available to local groups from EU programmes and sources closer to home.
Announcing the event, Mrs Dodds said: “In Northern Ireland we have a wealth of community groups and not-for-profit organisations that form the backbone of our society. Yet raising the money to carry out plans is without doubt the biggest challenge faced by these organisations.
“The European Union offers numerous funding sources, many of which are untapped or could deliver much more locally. I will be setting out some of the opportunities available through the EU, corporate, government as well as trusts and foundations, many of which are available in the coming months.”
Adding his support for the event, South Antrim MP William McCrea commented: “I am delighted that Diane and her team have taken time out from a busy European schedule to deliver a funding evening in South Antrim. I never fail to be impressed by the innovative and resourceful ideas that are brought forward time and time again by community groups and not-for-profit organisations throughout the South Antrim area, and it is imperative that funding is secured to ensure that these ideas are fully developed and realised on the ground.
“Monday evening’s funding event is open to anyone with an interest in promoting their community and I trust that those attending will gain fresh ideas and added impetus for their groups. Together with my party colleagues I look forward to what promises to be a productive and beneficial evening.”
