Roads Service is poised to seek the views of the Ballyclare public on a new one-way system for Bellevue Street and Bellevue Place.
Motorists using the road have often been hampered because of parked cars blocking one lane of the thoroughfare.
Public representatives and residents in the area have been lobbying the Roads Service for some time now, to introduce a one-way system in order to improve traffic flow.
A Roads Service spokesman confirmed the consultation process would take place and said: “Roads Service has received representations from locally elected representatives and residents to implement a one-way traffic system in Bellevue Street and Bellevue Place, Ballyclare, as a way to address traffic progression issues in the area.
“We have developed the proposal and would hope to start the associated consultation process after Easter.”
