Newtownabbey man's charity 'dander' from Scrabo Tower to Knockagh monument

A Newtownabbey man will take on a 'monumental dander' this weekend in order to to raise vital funds for charity.

Bobby McWilliams is aiming to complete the 22-mile walk from Scrabo Tower, Newtownards to the Knockagh monument near Greenisland on Sunday.

The 72-year-old, from the Oaklands area, has already raised almost £3000 for the Pretty 'n Pink breast cancer charity ahead of the challenge.

"My daughter, Carley, was diagnosed at 41 years old with breast cancer the week before Christmas 2020," Mr McWilliams wrote on fundraising site, JustGiving.

"Having undergone successful surgery she is now nearing the end of her radiotherapy treatment.

"Pretty 'n Pink are the only breast cancer charity here in Northern Ireland and they carry out vital work raising awareness and supporting those affected with breast cancer."
