A WIDE range of local people have been nominated to receive the prestigious title of ‘Person to be Proud of’.
In recent weeks, the Newtownabbey Times has asked readers to nominate people in their local community that they can be proud of; be it someone who goes that extra mile to care for a friend or a neighbour who got up early during the snowy weather to clear the road for everyone.
Nominees in the East Antrim area include a full-time carer, a social worker, a local volunteer, an Irish dancing school tutor and a charity worker. A local councillor was also nominated for his work in the community.
Nominations are now closed and the winner will be revealed soon.
Local natural gas supplier, firmus energy, is supporting the competition. The company recently connected its 50,000th customer in Northern Ireland to the lower-cost, convenient fuel. firmus energy prides itself on its excellent customer service record.
