Army Cadet Force take part in cross-Atlantic festive social

Army cadets from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean took part in a festive virtual meeting earlier this month.

The members of 2912 Sudbury Irish Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps and 1st (NI) Battalion Army Cadet Force took part in the Christmas-themed Zoom call on Saturday, December 5.

The event followed on from a similar cross-Atlantic call around six months ago.

Commenting on the festive event, SMI Tommy Crawford from Whitehouse Detachment (Abbotts Croft) said: “It was wonderful to see our Canadian friends again. These community engagement links are vital for challenging our Cadets to learn about other countries, their customs and their culture.

“Even though times are difficult, we were able to celebrate the festive season together, allowing our young people to broaden their horizons and outlook on life.”
