A spokesperson for OLIO said: “OLIO, the social enterprise fighting food waste, has partnered up with Tesco.

“This partnership will launch in Glengormley from February 8, and there will be six Tesco stores here that will be donating perfectly good food at the end of the day.

“In advance of launching we are looking for local residents to help volunteer by collecting the food from Tesco (usually a few baskets worth).

“The volunteers will then take the food home, keep some for themselves and distribute the rest to the Glengormley community via the OLIO app.”
