Dates announced for reopening of council sports facilities in Newtownabbey

Antrim and Newtownabbey Council has confirmed the reopening dates for outdoor sports facilites across the borough after the Executive moved to clarify the easing of lockdown restrictions yesterday (Tuesday).

A spokesperson for the local authority said: “We are pleased to announce that our golf courses and driving ranges at Allen Park and Ballyearl will reopen on April 1.

Access is by online booking only and bookings will open for both courses seven days in advance from March 25. Protocols will apply.

“Our 3G pitches will reopen on April 12 for training purposes only and for a maximum of 15 people. Online booking will be available only from March 25 here

“Antrim Stadium will also reopen on April 12 for training purposes only. Training in groups is for a maximum of 15 people and individual use is also permitted. Group bookings will be available, seven days in advance from April 5 by emailing [email protected] Individuals can book seven days in advance.”
