The event was part of a Live Here Love Here funded project where pupils from Hollybank Primary School, members of the Monkstown Village Initiatives ‘Flourish’ gardening group, along with Newtownabbey Rotarians, planted hanging baskets and window boxes to be distributed to local senior citizens and housebound residents.

Newtownabbey Rotary Club would particularly like to thank Margaret Connolly, the MVI community gardener, who sourced the materials and organised the community planting day, which was a great success, with 41 residents, pupils and Rotary Club members taking part.
