Next phase of Ballyclare relief road work to ‘commence in new year’

The enabling works for the project started earlier this year.

The main works on the road will be starting in the new year.

Following the meeting, the DUP representative said: “Speaking with Lotus it was good to get an update on what is happening with the Ballyclare Western Relief Road.

“With dry weather this year the contractors instructed for the enabling works have been able to complete those works ahead of time and the site is now prepared for the main works to get underway.

“New contractors will require a lead-in time to move machinery from current projects to start the main works in Ballyclare.

“There has been speculation in Ballyclare about the lull at the site, however a period like this is usual between preparing the site and starting the main works.

“After the meeting with Lotus Group I am happy to report that the project is on track and I look forward to seeing the fruition of many years lobbying on behalf of the people of Ballyclare and the surrounding areas.”
