This year’s categories include Best Kept Garden, Best Kept Front/Container Garden, Best Kept Commercial Premises, Best Kept School Grounds and Best Kept Community Planting.

Outgoing Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Jim Montgomery is encouraging everyone to get involved.

He said: “So many of our residents take great pride in their gardens and our schools, community groups and businesses invest time into floral displays and planting.

“This is a great way to enjoy some friendly competition with your neighbours with some fantastic local garden centre vouchers up for grabs. Don’t worry if you don’t have a garden, you can still use window boxes, plant pots, containers or hanging baskets to enter the competition.”

The closing date for entries is July 30 and winners will be announced in September.
