Planners give go-ahead for 500 new homes

Planning Service has recommended approval of applications for major residential developments in the borough comprising a total of almost 500 new homes.

At the council’s monthly Planning and Consultation Committee meeting on Monday night (June 9), members were presented with details of the three applications.

Planners have recommended approval of an amended proposal by O’Kane & Devine Ltd for the erection of 110 new housing units at Mayfield Farm, Hydepark Road. They have also given Glendale Ltd the go-ahead for a residential development of 217 new dwellings on lands near Corr’s Corner, between Craiglands Manor and Ballyearl Close. And approval has also been recommended for an application by Mr Samuel Kennedy for a two-phase development of 164 new houses on land between Station Road and Burn Road, Doagh.

Councillors passed the items without debate.
