Police in Ballyclare are appealing for information after a report of an assault in the Lisnalinchy Road West area.

The incident happened at the end of September, but police only issued their appeal for witnesses this week.

At around 4am on Saturday, September 22, it was reported that a man was assaulted by two men.

They are believed to have been driving a car and asked the man for directions before assaulting him. The victim received facial injuries that police described as “not life-threatening”.

One of the men is described as 6ft with stubble and was wearing a Nike jumper, blue jeans and a baseball cap.

The second man, believed to have been the driver, is described as being in his 20s and of stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively people can phone the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
