INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into a petrol bomb attack at a house in Rathcoole during the early hours of Saturday morning (September 8).
At around 3.40am it was reported that three petrol bombs had been thrown at the house in Derrycoole Way.
There was no damage to the property, however scorch damage was caused to a car parked outside.
It’s understood that a woman was inside the house at the time of the attack.
No-one was hurt in the incident, but local PUP representative Phil Hamilton says people living in the area were shocked by the attack.
“The whole community is disgusted and appalled by what happened. It’s very lucky that no-one was injured and that the only damage was to a car,” he told the Times.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident, and that police are still trying to establish a motive for the attack.
Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact police at Newtownabbey Station on 0845 600 8000, or to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
