Police seek witnesses to collision involving car and children’s buggy

Police have appealed for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Whiteabbey involving a car and a children’s buggy to come forward.

The incident occurred at approximately 7pm on Monday, June 22, but the details were only made public by the PSNI this week.

According to police, the female driver of a small black three-door vehicle struck a pedestrian pushing a buggy with two small children at the junction of the Glenville Road and Shore Road.

Although the buggy was damaged, no-one was injured in the collision.

The driver stopped and gave the pedestrians a lift home, but failed to exchange details.

The driver is described as being around 28 or 29 years old, 5ft 4ins tall and with dark straight hair.

She was wearing black sleeveless dress and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone who witnessed the event can contact Newtownabbey Police on 101 quoting the incident number ‘1184 on June 22’.
