PSNI officers vigilant on safety
Antrim and Newtownabbey Police Superintendant Emma Bond says that officer safety is the force's 'primary consideration' as the dissident threat level remains at severe.
“It’s an ongoing consideration but not to the point that it prevents us from going out to engage,” she said.
“We are telling officers to be mindful of personal safety.
“A lot of that lies in their own hands.
“We are continuing to diffuse that message and ensure they don’t develop complacency,” she concluded.
