Katlyn, who is studying sport at Northern Regional College, will be conducting a sponsored walk on Sunday, October 2 to raise much-needed funds for the charity. She will commence the fundraising trek to Carrickfergus Castle from Whiteabbey Royal British Legion.

Before entering the Ultimate Beauty Of The World competition, Katlyn said she suffered from nerves, but has gained confidence since becoming involved in the pageant.

She said: “I entered Miss Northern Ireland a while back and my confidence wasn’t very good. I was afraid of talking on stage and got very nervous. I realised I needed time to get my confidence up before I entered any of those heats again. I entered the Ultimate Beauty Of The World about a month after the heat of Miss Northern Ireland because they were taking applications and I really wanted to become an Ultimate finalist. I have felt comfortable and enjoy it so much already, I can’t wait for the grand final.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to be representing Co Antrim and be the current term Ultimate of Co Antrim.”
