BALLYCLARE Post Office reopened this week after weeks of legal wrangling between the administrators of Woodsides SuperValu and senior management at the Post Office.
The branch reopened on Tuesday morning, (November 15), to the relief of many people in the town who depend on it for essential services.
For almost four weeks, customers were forced to travel to Ballynure, Doagh or Ballyrobert after Woodsides, the business where the Post Office branch is located, went into administration.
Woodsides, continues to trade, while the search goes on for a buyer for the business.
Town councillor Pat McCudden said he had applied “constant pressure” on Post Office bosses to reopen the branch.
He said: “The difficulty arose when Woodsides went into administration.
“For weeks I have been told that the complications would take only a day or two to sort out, but it was closed for almost four weeks.
“But I am pleased the matter has been resolved and the branch has reopened.”
