Sharon Crooks, the Housing Executive Area Manager, said she was pleased with the work carried out by the contractor, Dixons.

She said: “This is a terrific boost for our tenants. I am delighted we have been able to progress this scheme.

She added: “Over the years our homes have been regularly upgraded and maintained and in this contract the single glazed windows which have reached the end of their useful life are being replaced with uPVC double glazed units.”

“With their replacement our tenants will benefit from greater energy efficiency, noise reduction, warmer homes, and lower heating costs in their homes.”

Welcoming the installation of new double glazing windows in her home, local resident Mrs Wilson said: “Having the new windows fitted has made my home feel a lot warmer.”
