LOCAL Progressive Unionist Party representative Phil Hamilton has condemned those responsible for painting sectarian graffiti on a gable wall in Whiteabbey.

A number of republican slogans were daubed on the wall of a property at Bleach Green Avenue, but have since been removed by council staff.

“I hope this is just a one-off as community relations in the area are very good and we don’t want that upset by a small element who are clearly trying to stir up tensions,” Mr Hamilton commented.

The Rathcoole man said he had raised local people’s concerns about the incident with the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
