Touching tributes paid after tragic road death

TRIBUTES have been paid to the 20-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a road accident near Whiteabbey on Sunday.

Johnny Glenn was rushed to hospital after his bike collided with a car on the Shore Road, however, doctors were unable to save the Carrick man’s life.

Only two vehicles were involved in the accident which happened just after 8pm on Sunday evening, July 24.

Three adults - two men and a woman - who were travelling in the car with a young boy were taken to hospital but their injuries were not life threatening.

At Monday night’s meeting of Newtownabbey Borough Council, members observed a minute’s silence in memory of the young man who was killed, and prayers were said for his family and those who were injured in the crash.
