Ballyclare TT rider Jamie Hamilton has “serious, but not life-threatening” injuries after crashing in today’s final race on the Isle of Man.
The 24-year-old crashed at high speed during the Classic TT.
The main event was red-flagged after the incident on the Cronk-y-Voddy straight at the 11th Milestone on the second lap. It is one of the fastest parts of the 37-mile course.
Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson said Hamilton was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
One eye witness said the Ballyclare man’s’s bike “disintegrated in a big fireball” after hitting a tree.
