Wedding photographs and gowns spanning a period of almost 90 years were showcased by Kilbride Presbyterian Women’s (PW) Group at a ‘Wedding Belles’ event held in the church hall on March 25.
A large audience enjoyed seeing the gowns worn by past and present Ladies’ Guild and PW members on their big day and hearing descriptions of the weddings, including where the ceremonies and receptions took place and the honeymoon venues.
The event raised more than £800 for the work of Presbyterian Women at home and abroad.
“The proceeds will go to the PW Mission Fund which assists with the cost of training and supporting Deaconesses who work in congregations, hospitals and South Belfast Friendship House. In addition the fund supports PCI Missionaries at home and overseas,” a Kilbride PW spokesperson told the Times.
