AWARD-WINNING US actress Gillian Anderson was in Newtownabbey recently filming scenes for new BBC Two drama series The Fall.
The 43-year-old star of The X-Files and The Mighty Celt, who plays a Metropolitan Police detective in the new psychological thriller, spent several days shooting scenes in a disused ward at the Whiteabbey Hospital site on the Doagh Road.
The Fall is a gripping psychological thriller that forensically examines the lives of two hunters. One is a serial killer who stalks his victims at random in and around Belfast and the other is a talented female detective on secondment from the MET.
Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan (Once Upon a Time, Shadows in the Sun) takes on the role of serial killer Paul Sector, while Anderson plays the talented Detective Superintendent Gibson, who has been brought in to catch him.
Filming for the series, which will air on BBC Two later this year, finished last Friday.
