WORK on the Carntall Road and Doagh Road junction is due to be completed by the end of this week, the Roads Service has said.
Work on installing new traffic lights and resurfacing the junction began in September and was initially supposed to take 12 weeks.
However, unexpected work on an underground culvert has led to the scheme’s completion being delayed.
Businesses and motorists have complained about the prolonged work and the travel delays that it is causing.
A local cafe manager said the work had hit business with passing trade not being able to use a car park, because of long tailbacks.
However, this week, 22 weeks after the work began, the Roads Service has said the junction should be completed.
