In addition to a special anniversary dinner held in September, over 100 YFCU members took up the challenge from YFCU President Martyn Blair to take part in an anniversary sky dive.

Members had the opportunity to do a tandem skydive using a dual harness attached to an instructor. After exiting the aircraft at 13,000ft they were able to freefall for 7,000ft when the instructor opened the canopy and steered them safely to the ground.

YFCU President Martyn Blair recently met up with Fields of Life CEO, Richard Spratt, and Cathy Kaitesa, who works in the charity’s Uganda office, and presented them with a cheque on behalf of YFCU.

Martyn said:“ I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members, their friends and families for throwing their weight behind our 85th anniversary fundraising campaign. The amount raised is truly staggering and it will allow Fields of Life to continue its impressive work in East Africa and enable the charity to deliver worthwhile projects and really make a difference to the communities involved.”
