Police have issued a warning to would-be trouble makers after a number of people were involved in anti-social behaviour and skirmishes in Glengormley on Wednesday, October 28.
No one was seriously hurt, but a police spokesperson said: “The potential for harm remains if this continues.”
Community representatives have said the sectarian incidents were organised via social media.
Police stepped up patrols in the town following the altercations to prevent further trouble. They will also be examining CCTV to identify offenders.
Police have appealed to local people to exert a positive influence and to stop young people from getting involved in confrontations.
The spokesperson added: “It is no coincidence that this trouble comes during half term. If you go to Glengormley and participate in anti-social behaviour you will be arrested.”
