Germany’s Bundesliga has been given the green light to resume behind closed doors.

Borussia Dortmund versus Schalke is among the games that will kick off the resumption of German football – the first major country in Europe to allow football to return, albeit behind closed doors.

The return of top-flight football will be a relief to football fans who have been without live football since March.

Here’s what you need to know about watching the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the UK.

When will the Bundesliga resume?

The majority of teams have nine games to lay in the Bundesliga, the first of which are scheduled to take place on May 16.

The final weekend of the season has been rescheduled to take place on the weekend of 27-28 June.

Where can I watch the Bundesliga in the UK?

BT Sport have exclusive coverage of live Bundesliga football in the UK.

They have yet to release a schedule of which fixtures they will be showing.

How much does it cost to sign up for BT Sport?

If you are a BT Broadband subscriber you can add BT Sport to your existing bill for £10 a month.

New customers can sign up for a broadband and BT TV subscription for £39.99 a month.

Alternatively a no-contract £25 a month subscription can provide access to all BT Sport channels.

BT Sport can also be added to existing broadband packages with Sky, Virgin and Talk Talk.

Bundesliga season so far

The race for the Bundesliga title is a tight one with five teams still in realistic contention to clinch the Meisterschale trophy.

Bayern Muncih lead the way on 55 points with a Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho inspired Borussia Dortmund four points behind in second. An excitng RB Leipzig side currently sit a point further back in third, with Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Leverkusen sat in fourth and fifth respectively.

At the other end of the table SC Paderborn and Werder Bremen face an uphill struggle to escape the automatic relegation spots, while Fortuna Dusseldorf appear to be the current favourites to face a Bundesliga 2 side in the season-ending play-offs.

FC Union Berlin are arguably the story of the season so far, sitting comfortably in mid-table on their debut season in Germany’s top flight.
