Vaughan Gething made the comment about Cardiff Central AM Jenny Rathbone during a virtual meeting of the Welsh Assembly which took place on video conferencing system Zoom.

Mr Gething has since apologised to Ms Rathbone, who had been asking questions about the Welsh Government's coronavirus response.

Mr Gething tweeted: "I'm obviously embarrassed about my comments at the end of questions today. I've sent a message apologising and offered to speak to Jenny Rathbone if she wishes to do so.

"It is an unwelcome distraction at a time of unprecedented challenge."

Mr Gething was heard off-camera talking about Ms Rathbone, telling an unknown person: "What the f*** is the matter with her?"

Some of the AMs taking part could be seen laughing, while others covered their face.

The clip has since gone viral on social media.
